Synopsis
A naïve young Texan arrives at the threshold of his dream—a life in the
wilderness—only to find himself charged for a murder he did not commit, cornered
by a crooked county attorney, and out of options.
For years, Cody Brandon has wanted his own cattle ranch in the mountain
grasslands of Canada. Armed with a fresh degree in Ag Business from Texas A&M
University, he heads north to British Columbia to take a promised job as ranch manager, a step toward
his ultimate goal.
He perseveres through multiple difficulties, falls in love with a beautiful schoolteacher, and has just
secured a dream job on a remote mountain ranch, when the bottom falls out of his world: he learns he’s
been framed for murder in Idaho.
He returns to Coeur d’Alene, where he learns how he was framed, and discovers the county attorney is
lying in order to milk him for incriminating evidence. Cody can’t trust the system. Like David from Saul,
he opts to flee. He has a few days to find the actual killer and exonerate himself, or go to prison and
watch his ranch dream die.

Endorsements
Writing like an evangelical Louis L ‘Amour, Gary Brumbelow has an uncanny ability–by engaging our senses and implanting us into the middle of the story–to lead us to evaluate our own lives. What might I have done trapped in a similar circumstance! It smacks of my favorite of Jesus’ parables. Stu Weber, Pastor/Author
I’m impressed with Gary’s debut novel and proud of him. His story has all the twists and turns you want in a yarn that just might keep you up all night. Enjoy and be looking for more from him! Jerry Jenkins, Writer of the Left Behind series and The Chosen novels.
